It all began in Leadville Colorado when a fifth grade student had a dream and the President of the United States took the time to make his dream come true.  If this could happen in a small mountain community,  it can happen anywhere.

The concept of Dreams For Kids Network, Inc. began in 1995 when a fifth grade student, Frankie, had a dream to meet the President.  Frankie’s principal made it his personal mission to make Frankie’s dream come true.  His meeting with President Clinton initiated monthly correspondence from the White House for two years following the meeting to check on Frankie’s progress in school and included personalized birthday and Christmas gifts from President Clinton and invitations to his second term inauguration.

This meeting would effect Frankie’s life forver and begged the question, “If the President of the United States would take the time to make a dream come true for a fifth grade student in Leadville Colorado, could we make dreams come true for others no matter where they are?" Dreams for kids was born and was able to assist more and more kids in realizing their dreams. In 1997, Rudy Malesich brought the idea to Mesa County, where the school district, community, and local law enforcement agencies worked together to make hundreds of dreams come true for students each year.

Our message to students is to "Do your best in school, at home, and in the community. We will do our best to make your dreams come true!"
